5 Must Visit Places in India

Starting from the southern-most city ‘Kanniyakumari’ to the ice cap mountains at Kashmir in the northern region, India is a huge country with culturally rich and historically sound destinations that can enrich your travel experience. The country buzzes with oldest temples, luxurious palaces, intricately designed forts, monuments, serene monasteries, mighty snow mountains, mesmerizing beaches, backwaters, wildlife and a never-ending list of places that shall take a lifetime to visit.

However, if you are planning a trip to India there are a few places I shall wish that you don’t forget to visit. And below are the five places that top my list of must visit places in the country.

Kerala

They call this state the ‘God's own’ and you shall understand the meaning when you visit the place. The flawless landscapes, calm backwaters, their rejuvenating massages, the mouth-watering food, countless number of spices and scenic hill stations and wildlife, are a few that makes the traveling a memorable one.

When in Kerala, you shouldn’t miss the experience of houseboat stay in the backwaters of Alleppey, the wildlife adventures at Periyar Sanctuary and Thekkady, the tea gardens of Munnar, the mystic Athirapilly waterfalls and the delicious aromatic Kerala food. A destination every traveler will fall in love with.

Kashmir

This enthralling beauty is heaven on earth and this place shall make you believe in love at first sight. The snow mountains, picturesque destinations and roadways and the vibrant gardens with fruits and flowers has made Kashmir the dream destination for honeymoon and family getaways.

The marvelous ride in the Dal lake, the adventurous activities at Sonmarg, Gulmarg, and the breath-taking valleys, monasteries and drive to the highest peak of Leh should be the things you must be doing when you visit this iconic destination of India.

Rajasthan

Though the scorching sun, sand and dry landscapes are the first things to pop into my mind about Rajasthan, this state has much more than deserts to offer their tourists. The extravagant forts and palaces in the ‘Pink City’ Jaipur, the intricate architecture of forts in Jaisalmer, the camel safari and sand dunes, the romantic lake city Udaipur, the spiritual tour across Pushkar, the authentic Rajasthani cuisine and majestic tigers at Ranthambore National park will make Rajasthan an enthralling destination of India.

You have so much to explore in the flamboyant and colorful state of Rajasthan that happens to be the richest city in terms of offering their tourists with unforgettable royal memories.

Seven Sisters of India

The seven northeast states of India should be a must visit place in your travel itinerary. The seven states are Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Tripura, Assam, Manipur, and Mizoram. Each of these states offers a unique experience to their travelers. Be the colorful monasteries or the oldest operating refinery, attractive landscapes, lakes, interesting tribal festivals and mouth-watering food, the seven sister states don’t disappoint you.

The most gorgeous places in this seven states include Agartala (Tripura), Kaziranga National Park (Assam), Tawang (Arunachal Pradesh), Kohima (Nagaland), Imphal (Manipur), Champhai (Mizoram) and Shillong (Meghalaya). There are so many unexplored places here which had attracted the young explorers or travelers, thus indulging attractive flight offers like flat Rs.1000/- off, etc. to these states and making the tourism option in the north-eastern states more promising and memorable.

Pichavaram and Sundarbans

The mysterious and surreal journey through the mangrove forests shall be the most beautiful thing you could have experienced on your travel expenditure to India. Among the world’s largest mangrove forest, there are two mangrove destinations in India (1) Pichavaram, located near Chidambaram, which is at the southern part of Tamil Nadu and (2) Sunderbans, located on the mighty Brahmaputra and Ganges river near Kolkata.

The brackish water, dense mangroves, chirping of the birds and the unexplored scenic paths of the forest will be the most adventurous and exciting ride of your life. Also, the Sundarbans is home to many wild animals including man-eating Bengal tigers, reptiles and birds. These mangrove forests will fill your travel diary with adventurous memories that will be engraved in your heart forever.

So are you planning a trip to India, then these five places can be the ones from where you can start your travel adventure. There are endless travel destinations around the country about these places will always hold a special spot in my Indian Travel Extravaganza.
