My BOLT experience...

It was a freezing day to begin with, for an early birding trip. I started early in my brand new TATA BOLT for my birding venture at the Pulicat bird sanctuary in the Sullurpet district of Andhra. My BOLT, just like Usain Bolt, streamed through the cool breeze of the winter morning on Pulicat road. This road is special for two reasons; first reason being the road leading to the Sathish Dhawan Space Station, Sriharikota, producers of the Mangalyaan (Mars Orbiter Mission) and another reason is the roadway by itself. The road carves-up the beautiful lagoon into two, which harbours a vast number of migrated birds like greater flamingos, painted stork, Indian grey pelicans and many more. The sparkling eye-like ‘SMOKED PROJECTOR HEADLAMPS’ gave me an elongated and zoomed illumination down the route, which was exceedingly helpful as there was no sun by that time. The ‘DYNAMIC TATA MOTORS ALLOY WHEELS’ not only gives the car a sporty look, but also helped me drive at a swift pace on the so-called highway.

As I was on this beautiful ride in my BOLT, suddenly a pink patch moving in a huge colony over the water struck me; it was none other than a flock of Greater Flamingo, a pure sign of magnificence. I punched my brake as soon as I confirmed that it was Flamingos. The ‘NEXT GENERATION ABS’ gave me a powerful-yet-safe landing. The advanced ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic brake-force distribution) and CSC (Corner stability Control) maintains smooth directional control, preventing wheel lockup during emergency braking by sensing the wheel velocity. I stretched-out in no time to get my binoculars, but ended up drawing the camera (canon 600D with 55 mm lens). Although, it was not possible to obtain a better view through my lens, I barely captured the long-shot of that beautiful flock along with pinkish tint over the water. Dawn conditions added value to the icon with its remarkable natural lightning. After that shot, I took my binoculars and had a better view of those lovely creatures.

As I was enjoying the view through my binoculars, some tiny thing passed by in a jiffy. It was the common river tern flying over the water surface in search of food, I confirmed after seeing it in a naked eye. At once, I started the engine, shifting to the sport mode, and went after the bird hoping for a neck-to-neck view. And to my surprise, I acquired a wonderful panorama of the bird in no time to dispense with. At that point, I realized the value of the ‘MULTI-DRIVE’ option, which not only assisted me for a better view in quick succession but also took my birding experience to the next level. ‘SPEED SENSITIVE STEERING’ enabled me a well-balanced drive and the ‘SPEED SENSING AUTO LOCK’ feature ensured my safety by locking all the doors instantly when the car is in motion. I was particularly impressed by the ‘ADVANCED CATALYTIC CONVERTER’ that converts the soon-to-be-emitted toxic pollutants into less harmful particles minimizing the harm that could be caused towards the environment.

With its exciting features, I think TATA BOLT can add value to your outing and make it a memorable one; it may be birding, adventure trips, long drive or any kind of activity.

(The author is a regular birder but does not own a TATA BOLT or any kind of car, this is completely a sketch of his imagination, and therefore this post cannot be substituted as a product review for anyone.)

  6. The bolt sure looks sporty and the features seem appealing. But I am usually quite dubious about the tata cars. I mean I have tried their mazda and other cars, somehow the driving experience seems to have something amiss..
